Gothenburg Regional Championship, Top 51

- Håkan Granberg is normally to be counted with when the annual Gothenburg Regional Championships take place around new year. And this time was no exception. He won the Elite event in grand style giving surprise runner-up Jukka Salminen little chance to do anything about it. The final was over after just a few minutes of tennis; +19 after victories in all four disciplines and Granberg is now expected to reenter the top position of the prestigious Gothenburg Racketlon Ranking after a long period of Niclas Larsson dominance.
- The victory made Granberg a member of a very exclusive club of people that have become regional champions more than once; the only other player who has achieve this is Staffan Ericsson, who won two consecutive titles in seasons 2003/04 and 2004/05. Granberg's first title came no less than six years ago (in the 2002/03 season) an indication of the vintage quality of his racket skills.
- A big thanks to Daniel Majetic and Niclas Larsson for inspired organisation! This year's Championships attracted a record 51 players, including many interesting new names like e.g. Fredrik Blom - a former top 10 national badminton player, which bears testimony to their excellent continuous efforts to make Racketlon grow in the Gothenburg area.
