ALELYCKAN OPEN 2009

Håkan Granberg, Örjan Lundberg & Mikael von Matern
Örjan Lundberg confirmed that there has been improvement in his game over the last year by winning most of his matches with a margin. His performance at the Dutch Open earlier this summer - where he beat two world class players in the two top Belgians Fernandez-diez and Duyck - spoke the same language.

But an even stronger exclamation mark must be added to the name of Mikael von Matern, Gothenburg. Given the fact that this was his first ever(!) Racketlon tournament his performance was no less than spectacular. On his way to the final he overcame major obstacles like Niclas Larsson (no.2 on the Gothenburg Ranking and no.5 on the Swedish Ranking) and Håkan Granberg (GR2 and SR14) and in his fourth match of the day (this was a rather demanding one day tournament) he even managed to challenge Lundberg; at 7-2 to von Matern in the tennis he actually looked on track to catch up with the +13 lead Lundberg had before tennis taking into account also that von Matern is a former professional tennis player. But Lundberg kept his head cool and went for winning shots rather than safe play - a strategy that paid off.

2009-07-07: Welcome all to the 2nd Alelyckan Open 2009. The tournament starts at 12:00, Sunday the 23th of August. We have four different classes. A, B, C and Ladies' Class. Prizes to 1-3 in each class. Last year we had 32 participants, this year we hope we will be at least 40 participants.

ALELYCKAN OPEN 2008

Niclas Larsson beats Örjan Lundberg in a tough A- final. It was even before the tennis and it looked like it would be a simple game for tennis-player Lundberg, but Larsson played his best tennis game ever and could win it by 21-10. However, the strongest performance in this tournament did undoubtedly Anders Vennersten. His third place was a major break-through and one will have to watch out for him in the future.

Alelyckan Open Förhandskommentarer

Det ser ut att bli en trevlig turnering. Kul med lite nya ansikten och kul med lite folk från olika ställen från Sverige. 32 spelare är anmälda, vilket vi tycker är helt ok för en turnering av denna kaliber. Självklart satsar vi på att bli större nästa år om deltagarna är nöjda i år. Det blir ett tufft schema, alla matcher spelas på söndag med start kl 1, och alla får förhoppningsvis spela 3 matcher var om alla dyker upp. Priser utdelas till 1-3:an i varje klass A-D.

Intressanta anmälningar:
Lilian Druve gör lite comeback. Mycket kul och intressant tycker vi, hon kommer att spela i HERRAR KLASS C. Hon blir en tuff nöt att knäcka för alla grabbarna. Annars är Anders Sunnanbris förstaseedad i denna klass.

I KLASS B är Mattias Wallin första seedad. Det ser ut att bli en tuff klass, svårt att säga vem som skall vinna den klassen.

I KLASS D har vi 4 nya ansikten, det tycker vi är kul. Pappa & son Samuelsson blir intressant följa. Annars verkar det var ett tufft och ovisst fält, svårt att säga vem som tar hem detta.

I KLASS A finner vi några av Sveriges 20 bästa racketlonspelare. Örjan Lundberg rankad nr 10 i Sverige blir mycket intressant att följa. Han är självklart en av guldfavoriterna. Sen har vi Hans Mullamaa nr 14 i Sverige. Han är ju stark efter sin förnämliga veteranskalp i England förra veckan. Håkan Granberg blir också intressant att följa, han är ju alltid vass. Granberg fick bara stryk med en poäng mot Mats Källberg för några år sen, och han visade bra form i England förra veckan.

BMM Hans Mullamaa fokus.

Daniel Majetic möter Örjan Lundberg i första ronden, blir intressant att följa. Majetic nollade två stycken i pingis i England förra veckan och har gått framåt enormt på sista tiden. Erik Sturesson ställs mot mig, Niclas Larsson, i första ronden. Vi får se hur det går, Erik är i bra form han slog ut stark spelare Johan Linse i förra top tävlingen. Anders Vennersten ställs mot Mullamaa, intressant match. Vennersten har spelat bra mot många spelare på sistone, han pressade Granberg nyligen. Granberg spelar mot Nils Börjesson. Börjesson är allround,och speciellt duktig i tennis och squash, det kommer utan tvekan att bli en bra match.

Varmt välkomna till alla spelare i Alelyckan Open. På söndag kör vi så det ryker.

2008-08-21: Thoughts about tournament. The tournament directors, Majetic and Larsson, comment on the competitors: "It is nice with many players from different places in Sweden. All the four classes, A-D, looks interesting indeed. It is difficult to speculate who will win since there are many good players in all classes. 200-08-18: We are happy to announce that Håkan Granberg nr 2 in Gothenburg has now entered Alelyckan Open. Nr 1, 2, 3 in Gothenburg will now be playing in the tournament.

2008-02-28: Henrik Håkansson nr 6 in Sweden has entered the tournament. Håkansson came 3rd in Swedish Open in Malmö in in January. It will be interesting to see how far he can go in this tournament.

Daniel Majetic & Niclas Larsson welcome all racketlon players to a great tournament in a great sport centre (Alelyckan, Gothenburg). Our main ambition with this tournament is to attract more racketlon players to the sport. We hope this will be an enjoyable tournament for everyone.
