The Former Gothenburg Racketlon King is Back

Comments:
- This tournament - the first Top X after the summer break - marked the return to the throne of the former King of Gothenburg Racketlon, Håkan Granberg, who showed good shape in all four sports. In the final he beat top ranked Niclas Larsson in all three of the initial sports and the match was over at 8-8 in the tennis already. +13 for Granberg, who might feel time is ripe to knock out Larsson from the top position of the Gothenburg Ranking - but it will take a few more wins to achieve that; Larsson has won almost every local tournament for quite a while now so his lead is rather unthreatened at the moment.

- Another remarkable return was that of Patrick Sjögren, who has not been seen in a Racketlon context for a while. When he first took up Racketlon a couple of years ago his major Racketlon weakness was squash. Now, after a few years' break clearly well spent, he comes back as one of Gothenburg's best squash players(!) Moreover, his main background is in tennis and his -7 against Larsson in his first Racketlon match for years impresses.

Later he won the plate tournament in grand style - and with a bit more of practice Sjögren might well be someone to watch out for in the Gothenburg Open at the end of October. (Go to www.racketlon.com/go to register for Gothenburg Open - this year's only World Tour event in Sweden!)
